To each, his own— and this is also true for casinos. Some casinos require patrons to wear formal attire, others would be more comfortable to business casual, and few will have no dress code at all.
Dress code is part of the branding of casinos. Those that require formal wear brands themselves as the top-class casino. These places appeal to the older, more experienced patrons in the area.
These casinos are most popular in Las Vegas. During the day, you will see a lot of patron wearing shorts or jeans, blouses, sport shirts with collars, and good taste t-shirts are all acceptable. But, while shorts and blouses are allowed, be mindful that torn or stressed pants are not acceptable. When night falls, the outfits get more sophisticated. Jeans, slacks, blouses, skirts, dresses, button-down shirts, jackets and of course suits are on the floor.
For the younger crowd, a more relaxed ambiance also brings in a fresher dress code. Boat shoes, collared shirts, and polished hair is the way to go. For younger patrons who want to have fun with friends and workmates, a more comfortable set of outfits are often seen. No flip-flops allowed, though. A right combination would be a seasonal sport coat or blazer with khakis.
A dress shirt, casual button-down shirt, open-collar, or even polo shirt. The tie is optional; loafers or loafer-style shoes and socks.
But, since everyone should enjoy casinos, there are also places that are not too strict about what their patrons wear. After a day at work, in their usual office wears, some patrons go straight to game rooms, and they are warmly received anyway. Nothing beats a good game after a stressful day at work. A clean pair of jeans closed shoes, and a nice shirt would be acceptable attire.
And since we value your comfort and style, we respect everybody’s choice of clothing in our casino. But, whatever you wear, nothing beats hygiene and confidence. Be courteous enough to consider the player sitting next to you.
Dressing up for a casino night out might be more comfortable for men than women because the definitions of the dress code are often narrow for women’s choices.
If you are someone who likes to dress up, some casinos are made especially for you, the same way that there are game houses that cater to the more relaxed patrons.
Here at Capitol Casino, we advise customers to wear clothes that they are comfortable in. Whether you come in shorts or jeans, t-shirts or button downs, our gaming rooms will be waiting for you. If you are not sure if you will be coming under-dressed or overdressed for our game rooms, a call to our concierge will help a lot. They will be happy to receive your inquiries and help you with your choice of outfit for the night. If you are too shy to call, an email inquiry will also work for us.
